GUINNESS WORLD RECORD KATA

I had the amazing opportunity to shoot HISTORY!!

Today we had a special guest in Okinawa, an official from the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS!!

I got to tag along with Chris & Yuki of "Travel67" and James of "Challenge Okinawa" as thousands of karate gis filled Kokusai street!

Once all the cones were setup, barriers in place, and the students and mastered all in line, the official announced that we were going to begin! And it is imperative that no one cross the yellow tape unless you were a participant or the official, otherwise they would cancel the entire event!!

Once they began, you could feel the energy as parents gleamed with pride at their little warriors, and both sensei and student became one in unison as they went through their kata together!

Both young and old displayed incredible strength & concentration that was passed down for generations.  The same skill that protected farms and castle walls was now being pridefully exhibited for the world to enjoy as helicopters and all sorts of media buzzed around.

Its amazing how a tradition so old still impacts so many today.
